Winter Weather Update for Mill Creek Landing Residents

  |     |   Apartment Living

We care about our residents! In that vein, we offer this blog post full of helpful information for the possible impending winter weather approaching our area this weekend.

As many of you may have seen in recent forecasts, the Hampton Roads area is keeping an eye on the potential for winter weather over the coming days. While details may continue to shift, current projections suggest the possibility of snow along with temperatures near or below freezing, which could allow conditions to linger into next week.

We wanted to share a few helpful reminders so you can feel prepared and know how to reach us if needed.

A Few Ways to Prepare Ahead of Time:

· Keep your phone charged and, if you have them, charge any backup power banks in advance. Get batteries for battery-operated candles/lights you may have too.

· Consider having a few days’ worth of food and essentials on hand. With colder temperatures expected to stick around, travel conditions may be slower than usual through next week.

· Printing or saving this information may be helpful in the event of a power outage.

If There Is a Power Outage:

If you experience a loss of power, the best course of action is to report it directly to Dominion Energy, as power restoration is outside the scope of what our maintenance team can address.

· Dominion Energy Outage Line: 1-866-366-4357

If you choose to use candles during an outage, please do so with caution. Candles should never be left unattended and should always be extinguished when you leave the room or go to sleep.

How to Reach On-Call Maintenance:

If you have an after-hours maintenance emergency:

· Call our leasing office at 757-850-8977. This number will route you to our on-call technician.

Please note that our on-call technician always covers two properties, so we truly appreciate your patience.

If you reach voicemail, please be sure to include:

· Your name

· That you live at Mill Creek Landing

· A phone number where you can be reached

· The nature of your emergency

Allow up to 30 minutes for a return call. If you haven’t heard back, you’re welcome to call again and leave another message — often the technician is assisting another resident and will return your call as soon as possible.

Community Safety:

Our team will continue to monitor weather conditions and respond as we’re able to help improve conditions around walkways, stairs, and common areas. As always, we encourage residents to use caution when moving around the community during winter conditions. Walk slowly, take care when walking to and from your vehicle, and be aware of the ground in front of you when moving about.

We’re hopeful the impact will be minimal, but preparation goes a long way. Thank you for taking a moment to review this information and for helping keep our community safe. We appreciate you!

Stay warm, Mill Creek Landing Management
